Our trip to Indy!

This weekend we hit the road! We left on Friday afternoon and headed down to Indianapolis for the weekend. We met up with Dave, Kamie, Brooke and Avery on Friday night, and headed to the Children's museum with them Saturday morning. Despite the craziness that normally ensues when we are all together (Carter is the oldest of the 6, there is a 4, 3, 3, 2, 2, and 1 year old) the kids had an awesome time. We didn't lose anyone, and everyone really seemed to enjoy all the exhibits. The favorites were the Curious George, dinosaur, and the playscape preschool area. The museum is fantastic and we will be heading back soon for sure!

We also did some swimming and made a trip to the Disney store. The kids loved every minute of it! Even Cooper seemed like she enjoyed all the activity!

We finished the weekend at Jacob's 7th birthday, where the kids thoroughly enjoyed the cake, ice cream, and someone else's toys!

Little Indians!

Annabelle and Olivia had a real Indian Chief visit their class at the Montessori! They told us the night before that he will have "Feathers from his head to his feet!" They were very excited! They came home with their own "war paint" and head dresses. Olivia told me that the chief lived in a tee pee and a wig wam! It was really funny to hear her say wig wam.

Anyway, it sounds like they learned a lot!

A Day at the Zoo!

First, let me start this by saying, THANK YOU to Ginger for meeting us at the Lincoln Park Zoo today. We made the last-minute decision to trek to Chicago to visit the zoo (thanks to having NOTHING to do and nowhere to go while showing the house).

So, Aunt Ginger met us there, and THANK GOODNESS for that. The place was a zoo (ha ha) with some sort of "Go Green" festival or something. Let's just say there were tons of people and loud music (that the 3 adults just didn't "get", let's just say this crowd would have made Jerry Garcia proud) Anyway, back to the zoo, the kids loved it, Carter kept saying "Come on Ginger!" We decided that he thought the next best thing was just around the corner. We saw polar bears, giraffes, you know the usual. Carter also did not care for the "Penguin" House. He said that the place was stinky, and we had to get outta there!

Annabelle & Olivia enjoyed it as well, and Cooper was a dream of course. You almost forget you have a 1 year old with you she's so good! I think she loves the chaos and just rides around in the stroller taking it all in!

Family Party Pictures!

We all enjoyed a nice evening for Cooper's 1st birthday! She loved her new Elmo car and the big kids loved the special trip to buy party supplies and a cake! The only problem was there were far too many opinions on what the "theme" should be for her party. If Carter had his way, the poor thing would have been sporting a Transformer's party hat!

Anyway, here are some pictures!

Happy 1st Birthday Cooper!

Cooper is 1 today!!!!! And in honor of her birthday, I am going to brag a little about this child. Cooper wins the award hands-down for being the best Evans baby to date! She has cried so little over the last year, it's almost unbelievable! She has the most even disposition, she is happy 95% of the time, and she does EXACTLY what you want her to do, when you want her to do it. I don't think I've ever put her down for a nap and had her not sleep. We've never had to let her "cry it out" at night, because she doesn't cry!

She walks, she talks, and she tries to keep up with her favorite people, Carter, Annabelle, and Olivia. Cooper and Olivia seem to have the closest relationship, but things are always changing around here. She loves her "Bunny bunny" which is her security blanket, she sucks her thumb, and she loves almost anything you feed her!

Happy Birthday Cooper!!!!!

We're BACKKKK!!!!!!

And we are rested, that's for sure! For those who may not have known, we went to Puerto Rico for 5 days and just got back last night. The kids stayed with Kara, and did very well without Mom and Dad for a few days!

Let's just say, they MAY have missed us just slightly more than we missed them...I told Jason, I missed them tons, I just didn't miss the work load that's involved in taking care of everyone, now THAT was a nice break :)

Here are some pictures from our trip!

Jason is "King of the World!"

Our view during the day!

Fair Oaks Farm!

Saturday we took a family field trip to Fair Oaks Farm. It was an absolutely beautiful day (finally) and we made the quick trip down south for some "dairy" fun!

The facility, if you haven't been there, is really nice. We spent some time in the "Adventure" area and then took the 45 minute bus tour of the farm. The kids loved being on the bus, even Cooper did her part in behaving. Annabelle, stepped off the bus at the milking demonstration and without being told announced, "It smells like COWS here!" And trust me, it did!

Then Carter got to drive the "Fair Oaks" train and the girls bounced on this huge "bouncy" thing that they had. We finished it all of with some ice cream of course, which is always a fun sticky mess. We were all pretty pooped, but it was a fun day! I recommend taking a trip there if you haven't been!
